Rough Draft

Quick draft before bed.

Life is fading,
In and out of moments,
Beauty, History, Time

We pass through each moment and sometimes we feel we should
Cling
Photographs, A diary
Your name on a park bench
I was here, I am history
Don't forget me

The appeal of routine,
Concrete words,
Brick, Done, Cunt.
It feels good in the gut,
Like your rooted to the ground,
A tree, thousands of years and you just watched,
The lives go by.

Your life is infinite,
And will breeze across the earth,
You'll always be here.

Don't be scared of what could end it,
And the moments that leave you,
Let it fade.

For that moment, for one second, was everything in the world.

Le Pain Maudit

He made his way towards the crowd
Their whimpers mixed with the crackle of fire
And each sodden face illuminated orange
As the bakery burnt down in flames

But t’was not the bakery they wept for
As he joined them he could hear
Gasps, a twisted neck
Eleven year old hands wrapped around a mother’s throat
And the boy shakes in silence with a look
Only the possessed can possess
And they will all watch as he slowly kills her

But not he, our hero, who forces himself through
The infinite crowd to save her
Heaving bodies helpless with heartbroken sobs
And he will get no closer, only deeper inside
Lost in their grief and eventually, collapse

And through their feet their eyes will meet
And he shall watch the final tear streak
Of the mother who died of Diethylamide

Daffodil

I am just buzzing
With life! Oh please get me
A drink of water

Sunshine petals, ah!
Doesn’t your garden look nice
With little old me

I’m quite tired now
I’ll curl up into the ground
And sleep until spring
